Dominic Wolz | Chief Marketing Officer | HEAD Group
Paul Diver | Senior Copywriter | HEAD Group
HEAD UK employs 62 people across three offices, two in London and one near Manchester. The team is led by Chief Creative Officer (CCO) Sarah Howatson, and is responsible for all of HEAD Sport’s marketing and creative output. It was my good fortune to be part of the London Creative Studio team for a year.
Throughout the year, I have moved around the office to observe and become a member of each departmental team. HEAD employs producers, project managers, and brand managers who collectively handle the production side, while designers, editors, copywriters, and creative leads work on the creative side. Each department plays a critical role in the creative process. Everyone I worked with generously shared their knowledge and provided me with as much opportunity for hands-on experience as was practicable.
Here are my main achievements:
1. Lead Project Manager for HEAD Group Sustainability Report 24/25.
2. Assistant Producer for HEAD Tennis Annual Indian Wells, US Shoot.
3. Creative Input for Winter Sport Athlete Interviews.
4. HEAD’s Lead Producer for David Lloyd X Judy Murray 24 Collaboration.
5. London Expense Management and Reporting Lead.
Goodbye Milo | From HEAD London
Water Mill Race is a cherished property in North Norfolk, an area that holds significant meaning for my family and me. Many of my fondest childhood memories involve playing in the water and, more recently, sailing and paddling around the broads. It is a joy to manage this property and welcome families from around the world to Burnham-Overy-Staithe.
As an Airbnb host, I successfully set up this property for short-term letting, meticulously organising cleaning and linen services to ensure high guest satisfaction. I designed and built the website, enhancing the online presence and appeal. Additionally, I developed a strategic pricing model to maximise occupancy and revenue. Using Excel for detailed reporting, I provided property owners with accurate revenue forecasts, aiding them in making informed decisions. This role demonstrated my ability to manage various aspects of property hosting, from operational logistics to financial planning.
Pro String:
During my time as a stringer for Pro-String, I played a pivotal role in supporting the logistics of a drop-off stringing service with Pro-String, which operates across eight drop-off points in London. This position demanded a high level of problem-solving skills, as I was often required to manage and resolve issues swiftly and efficiently. Whether it was handling unexpected delays, ensuring timely delivery of stringed racquets, or addressing customer concerns, my ability to think on my feet and implement effective solutions was crucial to maintaining the seamless operation of the service. This experience honed my logistical coordination and reinforced my capability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
While working with Smash Racquet Pro, I developed an in-depth understanding of the racquet sports industry, encompassing badminton, tennis, squash, and padel. I supported my manager in both website design and product logistics, liaising with major brands such as HEAD, Babolat, Yonex, and Wilson. My role required adept multi-tasking between stringing racquets and handling sales-related tasks, ensuring smooth operations and excellent customer service. This experience not only deepened my industry knowledge but also enhanced my ability to manage diverse responsibilities efficiently.
As a marketing intern for Sports for Schools, I had the unique opportunity to travel across the United Kingdom with Olympic athletes, delivering motivational speeches to primary and secondary schools. I played a key role in kickstarting the company's social media presence, organizing and managing a variety of competitions and giveaways to engage our audience. My responsibilities also included "blitz calling," where I developed strong communication and sales skills by calling schools to promote our services. At the end of my internship, I pitched a new social media strategy to the office, demonstrating my ability to innovate and contribute to the company's growth. This experience was invaluable in enhancing my marketing and interpersonal skills.
